NEXON may have only recently launched their free to play MMORPG MapleStory in Europe, but they are already planning a bunch of special summer events. Following the success of the recent French Revolution event, the company's European division is setting up a full schedule of special events, with more culturally-themed promotions throughout August and beyond. Planned festivities will kick off with an event based on Spain's famed La Tomatina celebration. The event, which is set to take place for two weeks from August 16th, will pay homage to the manic and world-famous tomato-fight that occurs every year in the Spanish town of Buñol, Valencia. In the game's version, players will, among other tasks, have to band together to save themselves from a tomato-shaped monster, sure to scare the Spanish kids in particular. All players need to do to take part is speak to the relevant in-game non-playing character (NPC) to start the event. Other Europe-specific events currently planned include the good ol' German Oktoberfest beer festival and the celebration of Guy Fawkes Day, which we celebrate here in the UK on 5th November (or Fireworks Night as many who don't know history have come to know it).
